InterSystems in Northern Ireland

This page tracks public evidence for InterSystems presence and product use in Northern Ireland.

Current Reading

The direct InterSystems evidence found for Northern Ireland is narrow but official: a Find a Tender procurement notice says Caché is the underlying database for the NHAIS application used primarily for GP registrations in Northern Ireland and records direct-award licensing to InterSystems for continued NHAIS use.

Current HSCNI digital-record evidence points elsewhere for the main care-record stack. DHCNI and Department of Health sources describe encompass as the single digital care record across Northern Ireland's HSC Trusts, EpicCare Link as the read-only professional access route for GPs and other health professionals, and My Care as the public portal excluding GP records and GP-arranged test results. The Department of Health says HSCNI partnered with Epic to build encompass, and Rhapsody says its integration technology supports the encompass programme. Current Digital Identity Service and ePharmacy sources add important Northern Ireland connectivity context but do not name InterSystems.

Evidence Map

Rows are ordered by directness and strength of Northern Ireland-specific InterSystems evidence.

Northern Ireland evidence What it supports Confidence Boundary
NHAIS Caché licence procurement Official evidence of InterSystems Caché licensing for a Northern Ireland GP-registration application context. High Caché/NHAIS licensing is not TrakCare, HealthShare, Health Connect, or GP Connect evidence.
DHCNI encompass pages Current regional single digital care record context. High Does not name InterSystems.
Department of Health encompass all-Trusts go-live Official confirmation that encompass is live across all Trust areas and built with Epic. High Strong boundary against implying InterSystems is the main EHR stack.
EpicCare Link Professional access model for GPs and other health professionals. High Read-only access to encompass, not GP Connect.
My Care Patient portal scope and GP-record exclusion. High Patient-facing encompass data, not GP practice records.
Rhapsody encompass integration source Vendor context for integration layer around encompass. Moderate Vendor-published; use only as boundary/context unless official HSCNI confirmation is added.

Boundary

The NHAIS Caché licensing notice does not support a Northern Ireland InterSystems TrakCare, HealthShare, Health Connect, or GP Connect deployment claim. The current public evidence supports Caché/NHAIS licensing plus a separate HSCNI encompass/Epic/Rhapsody record-sharing context.

Follow-up Evidence

  • Search BSO, DHCNI, eTendersNI, and HSC Trust procurement records for any InterSystems evidence beyond NHAIS Caché licensing.
  • Recheck DHCNI primary-care roadmap material for any change to the current encompass primary-care boundary.
  • Add official HSCNI confirmation if using Rhapsody as more than vendor context.
