Official InterSystems Positioning
InterSystems positions TrakCare as a flexible EHR and healthcare information system using a unified user interface, code base, and data platform for patient records and interoperability.
User Interface

Role in the Portfolio
TrakCare is the established EHR / healthcare information system family. It is relevant to NHS EPR replacement, hospital digital transformation, patient-record workflow, and interoperability topics where TrakCare is named.
What TrakCare Does
Every implementation starts with TrakCare Core. Organisations add optional products for their care settings and operational needs; the TrakCare name alone does not establish which modules a customer uses.

TrakCare Lab Enterprise
TrakCare Lab Enterprise is a laboratory-management product that can work with TrakCare, IntelliCare, another EHR or an independent laboratory. Its documented functions cover orders and specimen tracking, analytical results, result validation/publication, quality controls and operational reporting (SRC-349, checked 2026-09-09).
Interface example: no verified public Lab Enterprise screenshot was found in the 15 September 2026 review. The bed-search screen above belongs to the TrakCare EHR; it does not illustrate Lab Enterprise.
This makes a laboratory deployment a separate scope decision from deploying the wider TrakCare EHR. The Wales page holds the phased national LIMS implementation evidence.
Evidence Status
The 2026-09-08 product review adds two portfolio qualifications: IntelliCare is built on the TrakCare / IRIS for Health foundation, and InterSystems' May 2026 announcement names TrakCare alongside IntelliCare in its EU MDR Class IIa certification claim. Use the IntelliCare regulatory boundary for the vendor statement and unresolved certificate/version scope. Neither point means a TrakCare customer has adopted IntelliCare or completed local clinical-safety assurance.
Confidence is high for vendor positioning. UK NHS examples in this wiki include North Tees and Hartlepool and The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, but adoption and outcome claims need trust, procurement, and implementation evidence on the relevant example pages.
Scotland and Wales now have separate UK connectivity context: Scotland evidence is TrakCare / Ensemble oriented with Public Health Scotland and NHS Shetland support, and Wales evidence is strongest for all-Wales LIMS / TrakCare Lab Enterprise through board and procurement sources. Neither should be converted into a GP Connect claim.
International primary-healthcare and community-health evidence is tracked separately so country presence is not confused with PHC implementation. Current public evidence supports Gateway Health community-health use in Australia, Nexus Primary Health provider-level TrakCare use in Victoria, Victorian community-health TrakCare use, Chile SSMS APS / referral-workflow relevance plus current SSMS-network hospital clinical-record and direct InterSystems Chile procurement context, and reported DHAMAN primary-healthcare-centre / outpatient-care use with current DHAMAN network context. The Chile evidence should not be over-read as a Chile-wide deployment or named current El Bosque APS live-status proof, and the mirror-reported 2026 SSMS direct award still needs official Mercado Publico detail-link validation before relying on full contract terms.
The IntelliCare AI workflow map connects public AI feature descriptions to TrakCare documentation, chart maintenance, ordering, coding and medication workflows. It distinguishes vendor-described features from the local approval and implementation evidence still needed.
