UK Hospital EHR Estate and EpicCare Link
Checked 25 September 2026. The table records 98 hospital EPR/PAS observations and 11 external-portal observations, including current systems, phased programmes, replacements and explicit unknowns. It emphasises Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium and Nervecentre, with selected alternatives. It is not a denominator-complete English trust census. Use the map and searchable table or return to the estate overview.
Main distinctions
| Product / country | What the baseline supports | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Epic in England | Thirteen selected live trust observations, including ESNEFT, RNOH and the Devon shared programme; future Healthset and Lewisham/Greenwich observations remain separate. | An Epic trust is not automatically an EpicCare Link, Beaker or Radiant deployment. |
| Epic in Northern Ireland | encompass live across all five HSC trusts by May 2025; separate regional EpicCare Link evidence. | Does not establish inclusion of every GP record or retirement of NIECR/departmental systems. |
| Oracle Health / Cerner | Millennium and named local EPR programmes, including shared domains; current products and planned replacements retain their individual dates. | Oracle HIE is a distinct shared-record product. A shared EPR domain is not an ICB-wide ShCR. |
| Nervecentre | Core EPR evidence at Nottingham University Hospitals, Leicester and Northampton; phased, contracted and planned programmes elsewhere. | Earlier observations, ePMA or patient-safety modules do not prove completed core EPR rollout. Liverpool specialist plans retain supplier attribution. |
| Scotland | PHS names TrakCare PMS across 12 territorial boards; Golden Jubilee has separate evidence. Dumfries/Galloway and Western Isles have explicit unknown alternative-estate rows. | PMS evidence describes patient administration and is not proof of one complete national clinical EPR. |
| Wales | DHCW WPAS in six territorial boards and Velindre; Cardiff/Vale’s alternative core estate remains unverified here. | WPAS is administration. Welsh Clinical Portal and board-specific prescribing/clinical applications are separate layers. |
Read each observation’s primary links below. Several programmes have meaningful 2026 milestones: Torbay’s Epic go-live was 3 April, not the March publication date; Plymouth’s July go-live is confirmed by its September bulletin; York/Harrogate Nervecentre phases are distinct from Derby/Chesterfield’s initial Patient Safety Bundle. Future target dates are not promoted to live status merely because the date has passed.
North Tees/Hartlepool’s existing TrakCare EPR and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital’s signed future TrakCare programme are also included, with their different statuses retained. See the existing North Tees example and ROH example for deeper evidence.
Hospital EPR and administration evidence
status_date is the sourced milestone where available, otherwise the date of the supporting observation. An old go-live date does not mean current scope has been independently audited. The same trust can appear for its current product and a replacement programme.

EpicCare Link: external professional access
EpicCare Link is separately evidenced because owning Epic does not establish that a trust offers the portal, to whom, or with which permissions. It is distinct from patient-facing MyChart and from API access. Local onboarding, care relationship, role and enabled workflows govern what a user can view or submit. A portal may expose clinical information and selected referral/ordering workflows without providing the full internal EPR workspace.
ESNEFT describes a pilot. Northern Ireland explicitly describes imaging referrals; laboratory-order capability also has official parliamentary evidence, with detailed catalogue/role scope still to confirm. Do not generalise those functions to every EpicCare Link instance or assume it replaces ICE/tQuest for local GP ordering.

Remaining coverage
The baseline leaves many English trusts, hospital sites, mental-health/community estates, specialist departmental modules and private providers unenumerated. The diagnostic platform page gives independent evidence for orders/results and departmental systems; the shared-record page covers regional clinical viewers. Product absence from this table is not evidence of supplier absence from a nation or organisation.
