UK Clinical Platform Map
Explore the 25 September 2026 UK Clinical Platform Estate. Start with a layer, then filter supplier, nation or region. Search matches organisations, products and scope; the linked table is available even when a record has no regional allocation.
Shading counts matching evidence observations. It does not show market share, population coverage, exclusive suppliers or completed deployment across a whole region. Planned, historical and unknown observations remain visible unless filtered out. One programme can appear in several regions; map totals must not be added to estimate unique deployments.

The subject pages provide readable tables without JavaScript: shared records, hospital EHRs and EpicCare Link, and diagnostic platforms. CSV/JSON are complete for this baseline, including observations without map allocation.
Geographic provenance
The map has 62 territorial regions: 36 English ICBs, 14 Scottish health boards, seven Welsh health boards and five Northern Ireland HSC trust areas. These are different organisational units; the map does not imply a common UK commissioning model. Golden Jubilee, Velindre and nationwide laboratory exchange observations retain nation-level placement where no territorial allocation is asserted.
| Geography | Source and vintage | Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| England | ONS April 2026 ICB boundaries, BSC, published 22 April 2026; current NHS ICB directory and ODS merger summary | Fresh public ONS service download, transformed to WGS84; 36 ONS geographic identifiers crosswalked to ODS organisation codes. 200m generalised/coast-clipped context polygons. |
| Scotland | Scottish Government health-board boundaries, 2019 boundary vintage | Public-derived geometry reused from dmsGIS’s simplified geographic layer; includes 2019 boundary revision. Fourteen territorial boards, excluding national boards from the denominator. |
| Wales | Local Health Boards, December 2023 ONS boundary vintage used by the sibling dataset | Public-derived, simplified geometry for seven boards. Velindre is not an eighth territorial polygon. |
| Northern Ireland | Department of Health Trust Boundaries, 2018 geometry; catalogue updated July 2026 | Public-derived, simplified five-region layer. Short trust map IDs are local identifiers, not ONS or ODS codes. |
Boundary vintages are stated separately from the evidence review date. All geometry is illustrative and generalised. An ICB association may represent only a legacy subarea; trust catchments, pathology networks, imaging networks and referral routes can cross boundaries. The current map deliberately avoids drawing invented provider catchments or colouring an entire ICB as one supplier’s territory.
Contains public-sector geographic information under the Open Government Licence v3.0, including ONS/Ordnance Survey, Scottish Government, Welsh and Northern Ireland source attribution. See the machine-readable provenance. Coordinates are rounded to five decimal places after simplification; this is not a service-area or routing dataset.
Implementation and maintenance
Leaflet 1.9.4 is pinned in the repository lockfile, with its BSD licence published alongside local runtime assets. The map fetches local JSON/GeoJSON only and does not call an external map-tile provider. Filtering and search happen in the browser. The source data generates both wiki tables and downloads, so corrections should be made once in data/uk-platforms/ and rebuilt with npm run kb:update.
